Colwyn Trevarthen is Professor of Developmental Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, and pre-eminent in the field of parent-infant communication. His latest work examines the “musicality” of earliest communications with infants and on the importance of attunement and synchronicity of play, gestures and facial expressions in the pre-language development of infants.
